The Write Idea
Welcome to The Write Idea.
This site is a forum for anyone who is interested in writing. Set up in 2004 by Helen Whittakker as her own personal hobby site while she was studying the Open University online course A174: Start Writing Fiction, Helen ran it for pleasure, not for profit.
TWI is now administered by Doug Pugh and Donna Gagnon Pugh. It’s still a ‘run for pleasure, not for profit’ gathering place for writers from all over the world.
We are very keen to welcome new members into our online community. If you're into writing, why not post some of your work here? We love to read the work of other aspiring writers, and we enjoy giving constructive feedback, because we know how valuable it can be.
If you're not feeling up to receiving 'critiques' on your work, but you'd like to share it with others, why not post it to 'The Reading Room'? There you can create an online anthology of your own writing, without any comments from other people spoiling the 'flow' for your readers.
If you don't feel confident enough to share any of your work just yet, don't worry. Why not give other people feedback on theirs? We all welcome hearing readers' views on our work. Just mosey on down to the 'Members Writing' area and get posting.
If you don't feel able to give feedback, why not just hang out and chat in the 'General' area?
Never written a word in your life other than the weekly shopping list? Don't worry. We welcome readers, too. Who knows, you might even feel inspired enough to join in ‘The Monday Flash’ (where you have a week to come up with short fiction or a poem) or post something in the ‘Word of the Day Haiku’ thread.
So, what are you waiting for? Don't be shy. Get registered and post something! We're all looking forward to 'meeting' you.
